Gliding at ENAC
A glider is an engine-less aircraft needing to come down on the air to go forward. Thanks to thin light wings, a glider can fly a distance of 40km (~25 miles) from a 1000m (~3000ft) jump.
To take off, the glider is usually towed by another plane before releasing the towing cable when reaching approximately a 500m (~1500ft) height – where you can find your first upward current.
