Le texte, au théâtre, c’est encore ce qu’il y a de moins important. Ils n’entendent qu’une phrase sur deux

ACT 1 – Scene 1 : The meeting

      ME
Hey guys! Would you be interested in joining the ENAC theatre club?

     YOU
Cool, we’re going to play some Molière!

      ME
Actually, no – in this club we only work on 20th century texts.

     YOU
Oh no!… once again, so-called artists who jump at the opportunity to get naked on stage.

      ME
Not quite! We don’t always do strip-tease on stage (Hello, Milad Larkem :*). Throughout the year we read plays, analyze them, do some exercises to work on the artistic body and we stage some texts – the final point is to perform a play at the end of the year!

     YOU
So what is it about your thing?

      ME
A little bit of everything and nothing at the same tim ! The contemporary theatre covers many topics – we can talk about money, work, moral, war, Shoah or even questioning the meaning of our lives on Earth. Only happy things actually!

     YOU
But you’re doing all that alone?

      ME
Of course not! We have by our side the incredible and wonderful (she’d hit me if I didn’t say that) Karine Monneau from the theatre group En Cie des Barbares (wonderful company btw). Follow them on Facebook (otherwise she’d hit me again). She’s the one torturing us… *ahem* putting us to work and staging the texts that we pick.

FICTIONAL CHARACTER WHO HELPS THE PLOT
Sounds nice! But I’m too shy I would never have the courage to go on stage…

      ME
This is why you should come! I know some people that would have never thought of doing a strip-tease on stage at the beginning of the year, but, well, they kinda did (Hello, Milad Larkem). Whether it is to overcome your shyness, to discover new texts, by curiosity or to reconnect with theatre – the ENAC offers us a great opportunity with that workshop! (No, no I’m not saying that to have extra points on my grades!)

     YOU
But does it demand a lot of involvement to be a part of the theatre club?

      ME
No more than in any other club! You have to learn your text and think about how you want to interpret it – because yes, you are free to interpret your text as you want with the contemporary theatre, you will understand it very quickly with the Karine’s instructions…

     FICTIONAL CHARACTER WHO IS INTERESTED
Great! When is it and what I have to do if I want to come?

      ME
The rehearsals take place at the Théâtre de Poche in the Blue Hall in the Orly Building at ENAC every Wednesday from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm! We recruit at the beginning of the year but you can join us whenever you want, we always have some place for you! So don’t hesitate to talk about it around you to people who can be interested (and others too, it’s great advertising, thanks <3)

END

What do you need to remember from this scene? Theatre is super cool, it’s a great opportunity to have a lot of fun times and share a year of work to create a performance that is going to be awesome thanks to Karine <3

Hopefully we’ll see you by our side,
XOXO, the artists :*
